Up for your consideration is a rare bird by way of the Benjamin Centennial Model 87 in a brass over nickle over brass metal finish and a hand selected Walnut fore stock and butt stock with matching grain. The barrel and pump handle are nestled in a purple felt bedding and the overall design is a melding of Sheridan and Benjamin designs with no other model that is quite the same as this one. The rifle is factory equipped with a Williams aperture sight.
The trigger, trigger guard, breech cap, muzzle cap, bolt and safety are all nickle plated making for a stunning combination of brass nickle and Walnut. There is a Benjamin labeled soft gun case made of Cordura. This particular rifle is serial #000123 of what was originally supposed to be 6086 or so.
Two for each county in the US but production was cut short and there is documentation showing that only 250 of each caliber were made. (See Gallery of Airguns website). I do not know for sure if those numbers are correct. It has been stored with 2 pumps of air to maintain valve integrity. There is the good now for the mildly bad. There are 2 spots in front of the barrel breech on top of the barrel where nickle is showing thru the brass. Each is about 1/4 inch in diameter. They can be seen in several of the photos. There are a couple more spots like that on the left side of the barrel in the front. There is no box but the original manual and parts list is still attached to the trigger guard as is the paperwork for the case.
